Bangkok Nightlife: Octave Rooftop Bar

Octave Rooftop Bar in Bangkok

Finally we made it. After several visits to Bangkok, we made it to our first rooftop bar.

Friends recommended us the Octave Rooftop Bar in the Marriott Hotel in Sukhumvit Soi 57, so we gave it a try.

How do you get there?

As we usually stay along the Sukhumvit Road anyway it  was quite easy to get there.

We took the BTS Skytrain to Thong Lo station. The Marriott Hotel is only a few metres walk from there.

That´s the easiest way of transport. You can take taxis as well, but during rush hour it will take ages as the roads are totally jammed.

I believe they won´t let you in wearing flip flops and shorts, so make sure you are dressed accordingly.

Walk from ThongLo to Marriott Hotel

From Thong Lo BTS station it is only a short walk to the Marriott Hotel. The area is not that busy like Asok or Nana, but we still felt very safe.

Once you reach Marriott Hotel, just go to the elevators and go to the top floor. The Octave Rooftop Bar is on the top 3 levels, containing of a restaurant and two levels of bar area. We did not have a reservation but got a table quite fast. This can of course be different depending on the time and weekday, you go there.

We had a few drinks here and must say, the cocktails were excellent. The prices for drinks are very reasonable unlike in some of the more famous rooftop bars in lower Sukhumvit.

The 360 degree view from the top was absolutely stunning.

And last but not least a small clip from the stunning views you get from the top.

As it might get quite windy and cold, don´t forget to bring some warm jacket or pullover.

  1. Super fun! We love Bangkok so much, haven’t been to this bar yet, but will be sure to try it out! Thanks for sharing!

    1. Bangkok is the best city for us. Can`t wait to get back there. 😀 Octave is definitely worth a visit.
